A jewel of French heritage: a magnificent park with formal French gardens and English-style grounds, the Condé Museum with its exceptional painting collection, the Grand Stables and the Living Horse Museum. The château overlooks one of the most beautiful forests in the region.
This historic town with its old winding streets served as a royal residence from the Merovingian era. It was here, in its château, that Hugues Capet was crowned king in 987. Its Notre-Dame cathedral, with its soaring 78-metre spire, dominates the skyline. The Chapelle Saint-Frambourg, founded at the end of the 10th century, now houses the Georges Cziffra Foundation.
A town that inspired many painters, including Charles-François Daubigny, who pioneered the folding easel and open-air painting. Camille Corot, Jean-François Millet, Alfred Sisley and Édouard Manet all worked here. Vincent van Gogh spent his final weeks in Auvers and rests here beside his brother Théo.
New in 2024: Opening of the immersive experience "The Roots Mystery", on the very site where Van Gogh painted one of his last canvases.
The Cathedral of Saint-Pierre de Beauvais is one of the boldest achievements of Flamboyant Gothic architecture. Its choir, the tallest in the world at 48 metres, remains an architectural feat. The astronomical clock, the church of Saint-Étienne with its stained glass windows and Jesse Tree, and the tapestry museum complete the visit.
Note: Restoration work is currently underway on the transept crossing. The cathedral remains open to visitors.
The theme park dedicated to the famous Gaul, located along the A1 motorway, promises a day of guaranteed thrills for the whole family. Rides, shows, historical re-enactments and themed zones will delight children and adults alike.

A royal residence for French kings from Charles V to Louis XVI, the Château de Compiègne was also one of the favourite residences of Napoleon and Napoleon III. Its vast hunting grounds, the Forest of Compiègne, are ideal for walking and cycling.
